Slider Broken after update
-
After updating. Broken slider on front page. Updated two plugins and theme. Don’t know if the theme update did it or plugin. Would disable if I knew which ones. I can roll it back but would rather learn about fixing the problem. Interested in how the solution to this problem can be derived at. (Obviously not expert wordpress user)

Hi,
“broken” means?
I can see it on your site, and … it slides..Broken as not coming up. Like wheel turning around and around but no images. IDK if you were seeing the WPTouch mobile site as I have since disabled it because it was having issues as well.
But now you rolled it back?
Cause it works here:
http://i58.tinypic.com/v8k36q.png
http://i60.tinypic.com/107uyv9.pngSo after actually reading the forum rules, suggestions, or whatever they were called (IKR duh on my part), I went through and disabled the plugins and found that it was w3 total cache plugin was causing the problem.
It may have been a problem from terminals that had accessed the page before. Although I wasn’t willing to totally delete all browsing information (Becuase I do refer to this for several uses) I did concede and delete some information that proved useless because I remotely logged into my home computer which is a totally different ISP and the problem was still there. The only thing that I could find that was dysfunctional was the slider on the home page.
All this makes sense with the cache plugin. Also after now disabling it I checked google page speed insights and the following are what slows the site down. So strictly a user experience issue, which takes priority right next to being up and running.
Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
Your page has 9 blocking script resources and 14 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.Remove render-blocking JavaScript:
http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js

http://innovative-eyecare.com/…nc/assets/js/tc-scripts.min.js?ver=3.3.9

Optimize CSS Delivery of the following:

http://innovative-eyecare.com/…t-form-7/includes/css/styles.css?ver=4.1

http://innovative-eyecare.com/…/jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.min.css?ver=4.1.1
http://innovative-eyecare.com/…cond/genericons/genericons.css?ver=4.1.1
http://innovative-eyecare.com/…ond/genericons/genericons/genericons.cssThis was the original reason for installing the total cache. Now I would love to not have to run plugins at all and code the thing myself. However, my coding experience is very limited. But ahhh so wonderful is the power of determination. Speeding this thing up is doable. Any insight would be appreciated, however I will mark this particular problem as solved in say 12 hours or so and post on another forum or whatever direction I need to go. Thank you for your help.
Well,
I think the weirdest thing is why you couldn’t see the slides on your site but I could?
…
Anyway about using wp total cache -> http://themesandco.com/performance-improvements-for-themesandco-com/
