• I activated the plugin and the Slider Revolution vanished off the home page. I am not very familiar with WP yet so I need some help. I looked at two other posts I saw in the forum and tried adding rs-plugin/css/, jquery.js to the CSS exclusion list but nothing changed. Any ideas?

well, for one jquery.js should be added to the JS optimization exclusion list. at that point it will most probably work., if not I would need the errors shown in your browser’s (error) consonle.

if there still are styling issue, you might indeed need to add some stuff to the CSS optimization exclusion list.

    Frank,

Thanks for the quick follow up. I placed the CSS piece (rs-plugin/css/), in the exclusion line and jquery.js to the JS exclusion and I received a message on the screen but I am not sure how to fix what it says because I don’t see any troubleshooting option?

This shows in the place of the slider after putting those snippets in the exclusion lines.

Revolution Slider Error: You have some jquery.js library include that comes after the revolution files js include.
This includes make eliminates the revolution slider libraries, and make it not work.

    To fix it you can:
    1. In the Slider Settings -> Troubleshooting set option: Put JS Includes To Body option to true.
    2. Find the double jquery.js include and remove it.

hmm … not “deep into” revslider, but can you share the URL to your site so I could have a quick look?

I would actually need to install it on my main installation. I was using a sandbox so I didn’t cause any issues with the main site I am building that has a construction page.

On a side note, have you seen WP Super Simple Speed? Can you tell me your honest thoughts on that plugin versus yours? Your support is better as that individual lags on follow up and I am considering deleting it and going with yours permanently once I can figure out the slider issue. If you need to see a copy of the premium version to assess it compared to yours I can send you the zip.

wp super simple speed (the free version) does not do JS/CSS optimization, so it’s a different beast. the premium version is supposed to do so, but their own site does not do so which is … surprising.

my best & honest advice: test and pick the tool that gives you the best performance 🙂

    Frank,

Would you be interested in checking out the premium version that was given to me? Just curious.

hmmm … don’t have time to test the plugin itself at the moment, but would love to see a site that uses WPSS’s JS/CSS optimization to assess it’s strength based solely on the result in the frontend.

    Frank,

That sounds good. I’ll install it on a site down the road and follow up with a link for you to check it out.

Also, I will delete the sandbox and install your plugin on a regular site so you can view the url and see what is going on with slider revolution and how we can fix it.
