Slider size

You can change the slider size at the Slider settings > Size tab: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/59-slider-size

The actual size on the page can also depend on the used responsive mode.

The Full width responsive mode ( https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/399-responsive-mode-fullwidth ) will make the slider take up the full width of the screen. Since it keeps the original ratio (set by the slider size) this could be the reason that it’s too big. You could use the maximum slider height: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/399-responsive-mode-fullwidth#height
to limit the slider’s height.

Or if you just want the slider to fill its container, use the Auto responsive mode: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/398-responsive-mode-auto
Although, if the slider is in a full width container, the same problem can occur. You can use the maximum slider height: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/398-responsive-mode-auto#height
to ensure that it does not get too big.
Or if you don’t want the slider to fill the container completely, you could disable the upscale: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/398-responsive-mode-auto#responsive-auto-width
so the slider’s largest possible size will be the given slider size.
