    Hi Chris,
just a quick question, I don’t know what I am doing wrong.

This code doesn’t show the client_name and company_name. And idea why? Thanks.

    [strong category="25" random title slideshow show_for="5" effect_for=".5" no_stylesheet class="strong-homep"]
    [client]
    [field name="client_name" class="name"]
    [field name="company_name" class="company"]
    [/client]
    [/strong]

  • Do the field names match what’s in the Field editor?

Are those fields populated in each testimonial in that category?

Does flushing your site cache and browser cache help?

    yes
    no

It’s strange, because at another place on the same site, there is a similar code and it works.

    Difference:
    no category and excerpt

    [strong random excerpt title slideshow show_for="5" effect_for=".5" no_stylesheet class="strong-homep"]
    [client]
    [field name="client_name" class="name"]
    [field name="company_name" class="company"]
    [/client]
    [/strong]

I need to see the HTML. Please post a link to the page with the category shortcode, or send it to me at wpmission.com.

Here’s the link of the category shortcode:

    Here’s where it works correctly:

    Thank you.

    1. It is working correctly in a Page Builder widget. Where it is not working, is that simply a page with the shortcode or is it some other drag-and-drop editor?

    2. Would you be willing to try converting that [strong] shortcode to a View instead? Views offer better compatibility.

    1. Yes, you’re right. Working with Page Builder, and not working with a page with a shortcode (no other drag-and-drop editor has been used).

    2. Wow, nice, didn’t know about the VIEW option. It is working now. Just have to fiddle with css a bit, but that’s easy.

    Nice, thanks.

Good, thanks. I haven’t promoted Views much because I need to write some documentation and tutorials first but they are the future of this plugin and I think the [strong] shortcode will eventually be phased out.

If you want the gradient gray background like [strong], look at gradient.css in the plugin’s templates/default directory.

    Thanks.

There might be a bug maybe?

When I use a slideshow with 2 categories.

    1st categ has 3 testimonials.
2nd categ has 1 testimonial which is also in the 1st categ.

The slideshow will show 3 testimonials and 1 white place. In reality it should only show 3 testimonials…

And also, when editing the views, the categories always jump to checked all – so every time I edit I have to set the right categories again.

There is a bug with categories in the slideshow that will be fixed in an update going out today.
