slideshow disappears
-
I am using your slideshow (Version: 2.2.23/wordpress slideshow plug-in)
for friend’s site/had to hack in a wordpress page called “current”)
(see : http://nadehaley.com/current)
–page loads fine with slideshows present (see first and third entries), works fine, as i intended, except when the individual post with the slideshow is linked ‘singly’ the slideshow disappears/defaults to “style:display: none” —
i am really stuck, any help would be MOST appreciated
Thank you.G.E.

Hi G.E., can you explain further what you mean by the following.
except when the individual post with the slideshow is linked ‘singly’ the slideshow disappears/defaults to “style:display: none” –
Currently the slides work well, I see no problem.
-Thanks so much for the quick response/yes, the “opening” ‘current’ page works well, but if you click the upper left hand link that opens the individual entry ( see ‘test’ and ‘rising’) the link that opens displays the behavior i described–i am lost…
http://nadehaley.com/currentAre you talking about the Test link? Which opens the following link http://nadehaley.com/current/?p=334?
yes!…
Is that link active? What I mean is, do you have a page or post with the slideshow shortcode inserted?
What permalink are you currently using in WordPress?
I am using the “default” permalink (i.e.; http://nadehaley.com/current/?p=20) though i do not see that reflected in the url when you click on the link (like above)–
here is the post for “test”:<h2 class=”aligncenter”><u>TEST</u></h2>
<div id=”container.site-content” style=”display: block;width: 620px; “>
<div class=”slideshow_container” style=”width: 620px; height:620px; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px;”>
[slideshow_deploy id=’341′]
</div>
Photographs, hydrocal pieces, and block prints, 18″x18″each. Click through for details.</div>
The permalink might be causing an issue. But just to make sure, lets carry out a test. Add a simple slideshow shortcode to a test page and add that test page as a link just like your example above. Lets see what happens.
ok! so here is a test (“test2”)
permalink is http://nadehaley.com/current/?p=367
but slides only show through main “current” page:
http://nadehaley.com/current
Dont understand…Is that a page or a post? Did you add one of the shortcodes you have in the following URL http://nadehaley.com/current? What if you change your permalinks?
I’m not sure I understand–i thought the “page” is “current” and ‘test2’ and ‘test’, and the other 2, are ‘posts’…
–‘changed permalink to post name : http://nadehaley.com/current/test2/
This is the code i used/same problem…slideshow only shows on http://nadehaley.com/current<h2 class=”aligncenter”><u>TEST_2</u></h2>
<div id=”container.site-content” style=”display: block; width: 620px;”>
<div class=”slideshow_container” style=”width: 620px; height: 620px; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px;”>[slideshow_deploy id=’371′]</div>
</div>Okay this is very strange. Lets try something different, only add the shortcode to the test page without any HTML. If that does not work then test one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Fourteen.
Lets see if this helps.
Regards
i made a “test3′:
http://nadehaley.com/current
and here is the permalink:
http://nadehaley.com/current/test3 /
same trouble as before! so frustrated….i appreciate all yr help!Did you test a different theme like I mentioned above?
-I am not sure how to test a different theme without losing stuff in css,etc–i DID try different theme “previews” without the above slideshow issues but i dont think that what you mean..?
Hi, that is what I wanted for you to test. Did the preview for the testing theme show no issues, when you tested the link? If the slideshow displayed correctly then you know that your current theme has an issue.
