    1. You have 2 non-wppa related js errors:
Uncaught TypeError: $ is not a function
Uncaught TypeError: container.find(...).em_selectize is not a function
    Try to fix them

    2. Disable all cachinhg and (js) optimizations, for testing; you can later re-activate them if they are not the cause of the problem.

    3. Try a different ajax method in Photo Albums -> Settings -> Advanced settings -> System -> Item 5: Frontend Ajax method

I may have created a working workaround version. Pls test it.
Download https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/wp-photo-album-plus.9.0.10.010.zip and install as a new plugin and click the Replace current by uploaded button

Pls let me know if it works

Thanks for your quick reply. I am sorry but I am not very familiar with Ajax functionality.

Unfortunately your work around does not work either.

However, I am sure what it did still work on Tuesday when I had a training with a new assistant. Later on, I had the latest update done and obviously this is the reason why it does not work any more.

Do you know what updates you made?

Either my update is reverted or you did not clear caches because i do not see the patch happening on your site at the moment

Sorry, there seems to be something wrong with my patch; working on it, please be patient

The slide show still does not start automatically. But if you click on one of the photos below the main pictures it shows the picture and you may now start the slide show. This was not the case with 9.0.09 Version. I am not sure if I trief with 9.0.10.10 Version.

I tested your theme adventure and it generates a lot of errors.
It messes around with the sequence of js files loading and even does not load some js files from the wppa plugin.

So, maybe it is a good idea to look for a different theme.
Examples of wppa features that do not work on this theme: nicescroller and ajax

BTW check if autostart is enabled in Photo Albums -> Settings -> Slideshow -> IV -> Item 1

Also: set Photo Albums -> Settings -> Advanced settings -> System -> I -> Item 5: Frontend Ajax method to None

I made a few more patches in https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/wp-photo-album-plus.9.0.10.012.zip
The slideshow will now start also.

Please be aware that you will not be able to use all possible features in wppa due to issues in the theme,
To be more specific: the document.ready event does not cause the execution of all functions bound to it. This is the most importand problem in the theme.

Thanks for your help. After installing the new version it works correctly.

Concerning the settings in your previos message. First one was enabled. I changed the second one now.

I am aware of the fact, that the theme is an old one and I should replace it. However, there a lots of features I really love. I’ve looked at lots of other themes, but I haven’t found the one that I really like yet. I fear I have to go on looking for it

It should be safe to update to the current stable version 9.0.10.014
