To report 2 usability issues with the Slideshow view.

Have 2 ST shortcodes one after the other contained in a WC tab, both filtering different aspects of a WC product.

Shortcode=1 displays a slideshow in a random order with a Modern style that starts automatically and adjusts height for each slide.

    Have noticed 2 things:

    a) shortcode=1 clips longer content on page load, and before the auto-start resize behavior kicks in. Clearly noticeable if auto-start is disabled.

    b) shortcode=1 doesn’t stop when outside viewport. This can be measured by the slight but still noticeable vibration happening to shortcode=2 content when #1’s slideshow resizes out of sight. It happens often it becomes slightly annoying during reading.

    Tested on latest Chrome Win7-x64.

Hope you could reproduce and fix accordingly.

Help me isolate the problem. Put the same shortcodes in the same order in a standard page. Does it exhibit the same behavior?

And what plugin are you using for WC tabs?

Thanks, Chris, for looking into this!

    a) Can confirm the clipping issue happening in a std. WP page, too.
    Steps:
Put a shortcode slideshow alone in a std. page, with these settings that seem the pertinent:
    – Behavior: Start automatically; Pause on hover; Stop on interaction; Adjust height for each slide.
    – Pagination: Controls: none; Pagination: Full; Style: buttons; Position: Outside.
    – Style Template: Modern.

    b) Can also confirm that with the above settings the slideshow animation doesn’t stop when outside of view.
    Steps:
Again tested with a WP page with single slideshow shortcode and a chunk of text below it. It can be seen how the browser vertical scrolling moves by itself when a slide is being resized. Chunk of text vibration is noticeable on such resize, too.

    c) For WC tabs I’m using WooCommerce Product Tabs by Nilambar Sharma.

Just tell if I could assist any further.

    [EDIT]

A partial workaround for p. a) has been this for me:

    .testimonial-client
    { padding-bottom: 8%; }

Most of the clipping seems fixed on page load (haven’t yet tested cross-browser), but the bottom gap becomes quite large when the script behavior (auto or manual) kicks in.

Thanks Chris. Will come back to you with this issue at some point later though. As everything up-to-date is still local, and the VPS I’ve has a too ancient Ubuntu to support some PHP5.5+ techniques I used lately and needs a complete overhaul.

OK. I’m going to mark this resolved. As this is related to your very specific use case and not a general problem, I ask that you start a support ticket at support.strongplugins.com when you’re ready.
