• Hi,
GTMetrix gives me a slow 0.4 rating on CLS and says it is from

    <div class=”mh-wrapper mh-clearfix” style=”height: auto !important;”>

Any ideas on how to speed this up or changes to make?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @captainmet,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

We use that class and CSS rule to ensure the sidebar and main content area take fit vertically. You can modify the theme and remove the class.

    Thanks Harish,
Actually I use the same theme on 2 other sites and they don’t have a high CLS, so I’m curious as to why this one in particular has the problem.
Is that something you could look at, and see if I am missing something?

    Hey @captainmet,

Can you please share a link to the other website as it will help me compare?

    Hi,
sent through the link but says ‘held for moderation’

    Hey @captainmet,

I tested both sites. GT Metrix is not sharing the complete details, just an overview of what element is causing the CLS. In this case, it was the main container that contains the main website content. If you look at the “Page Details” section than you will see that the mixingaband website is larger hence additional time to load.

I would recommend experimenting on the website by first removing contents from the sidebar and testing again.

Thanks, didn’t really make any difference.

Regarding what you initially suggested “We use that class and CSS rule to ensure the sidebar and main content area take fit vertically. You can modify the theme and remove the class.”
In what file do I do this? I can’t see it in any of the files in editor
Thanks again for your time and help

    Hey @captainmet,

You can open the theme files such as “index.php”, “homepage.php”, etc. and you will find the CSS class name. Changing this will not have much impact.
