Dear staff on my site i notice that if a product is out of stock and than i update it on my woocommerce, it takes too much hours to update on google merchant center (via feed api). Tried also via /wp-admin/admin.php?page=connection-test-admin-page updating only the product id… how to make it quickly? I need to update the feed in few minutes. Thanks

  • Hi @antonios31,

I understand how important it is for stock changes to reflect quickly in Google Merchant Center, especially when products move in and out of stock, and I want to help clarify all the factors involved here.

With Google for WooCommerce, product updates are sent to Google through the Content API, but the final processing time is handled by Google Merchant Center. Even when WooCommerce successfully sends an update, Google may still take several hours before the change is visible. Using the connection test page to sync a specific product can help confirm that the product is eligible and syncing correctly, but it does not force Google to process the update instantly.

It is also worth noting that syncing depends on your site’s cron job and scheduled actions. Google for WooCommerce relies on WordPress cron to process and send updates in the background. If WP Cron is delayed, disabled, or only runs when there is site traffic, this can slow down how quickly updates are sent to Google. Checking that scheduled actions are running as expected and that there are no pending or stuck actions can help ensure updates are being pushed promptly.

At the moment, there is no supported way to guarantee feed updates within a few minutes, as both WordPress cron processing and Google Merchant Center timing are outside of direct control. What you can do is make sure there are no sync errors, that products are eligible, and that scheduled actions are running normally. This guide explains how product syncing works and what to review if updates seem delayed: https://woocommerce.com/document/google-for-woocommerce/get-started/product-feed-information-and-free-listings/#sync-and-statuses

If updates are consistently taking an unusually long time, such as more than 24 hours, please share a product ID and confirm whether you see any errors or warnings in the Google for WooCommerce dashboard, and we can look into it further together.
