Slow wordpress site

    So I am experiencing a quite substantial slowness on my WP site. I have tried to disable plugins/themes, though that didn’t change the load time dramatically.

    My WP site loads in about 5.5 seconds, while my Xenforo forum loads in only about 1 second. My speed rating on GTMetrix is 90%! Link to report:

    So I don’t see why my WP site is so slow to load? So Xenforo is loading very fast, so it can’t be the server. I have other sites hosted as well on this webhost, and they all load fast. It is only WP that is slow.

    The first place to check is content, not WP. Use a tool like pingdom to identify what’s slow. Unless optimized, large images are often the culprit. Comparisons with other sites may not be meaningful if they don’t have the same content.

    My images are well optimized, so I don’t think it is that. GTmetrix reports 91% score on “optimize images”.
