    Hey Shane,

If caching is enabled in the plugin then there should be very little – if any – increase in page load time, as the plugin pulls the Facebook posts directly from the cache in your WordPress database. The only time there would be an increase in page load time is when the plugin’s cache time expires and it checks Facebook for new posts. The time that it takes to get the posts from Facebook depends on how many posts you are trying to display – the more posts the longer it takes to query Facebook’s API for them.

    A few quick questions:
    – How many posts do you have the plugin set to display?
    – Do you have a ‘Post limit’ set (under the number of posts on the plugin’s Settings page)
    – What do you have the ‘Check Facebook for new posts every’ setting set to?

    Many thanks!

    John

    Hello,

I also have the same issue. The facebook feed pro plugin is slowing down the backend of my site.

I have the number of posts set to 2 and the post limit changed to 5. It checks for new updates every 2 hours.

Is there anything else in the plugin that can help speed it up at all?

    Hey Reece,

It sounds like your issue is different to Shane’s as it refers to the admin side of the site rather than the front end. Could you submit a support request via our website so that I can see which plugin version you’re using among other info. We’re not allowed to support paid plugins on the ww.wp.xz.cn forums as it’s reserved for free plugins only, and so any support for the Pro version needs to be conducted through the support form on our site.

    Many thanks!

    John

    Hi John,

Thanks for the swift reply. I however uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled and it was much quicker the second time round. Ill monitor it to see if it slows down the site at all, but all seems well.

Awesome, glad to hear that Reece. I’m not sure what was causing the issue but glad to hear it appears to be better now.
