Slug disappeared form posts in back-end after activating classic editor plugin with permalink settings as numeric. On switching to Gutenberg editor its working perfectly.

    Hi @lijojosephk

Just to clarify, does this issue occur with only a default WP theme (such as TwentyTwenty) and only the Yoast SEO and Classic Editor plugin enabled? Do the permalink settings also need to be set specifically to ‘numeric’ in order to reproduce this issue?

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

Staging setup has Twenty Twenty-One theme active and only the Yoast SEO and Classic Editor plugin enabled. This issue persists only on post with ‘numeric’ permalink settings. Please provide your email ID to share the staging credential.

    Hi @lijojosephk

We aren’t able to share email addresses here or access staging sites, as it is outside our scope of support on these public forums.

If this issue occurs with only the latest version of Yoast SEO, Classic Editor, and a default WP theme, we recommend that you please open a bug report on GitHub by following the steps here – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/

    Thanks for your understanding.
