• Hi, Lester Chan!

WP-PostRatings is undoubtedly the best plugin of its kind. I use it for a year and very happy. Thanks to the developer for your great work!

I have a few suggestions. Maybe you find them useful and have time to implement them in future versions.

    1. Small and easy. WP-PostRatings creates its own column with rating in the list of articles in admin zone. Very good and useful. But plugin use template from its options for that. What is reason for it? In that template I use big text explaining users how I want they vote and how this important for site. 🙂 As result in article list I have 20 copies of this big big text… Khmm… Can you just show article rating in this column?

    2. A little bit harder. Plugin add tags to page, so rating shown by Google. Best function! But with metatag for rating plugin generate a lot of other metatags. I understand, that without them Google doen’t use rating metatag, so for huge part of WP webmasters generating all amount of metatags is good. But advanced users install special plugins for markup like Schema. These plugins are much more customizable. Metatags of WP-PostRatings destroy effect of this plugins, what is bad for SEO. Can you create for WP-PostRatings a special option, where webmaster can mark (just checkbox, nothing more!) what exacly metatags should plugin insert to page? As default they should be marked all, so webmasters without knowledge won’t have any troubles.

    3. I’m afraid, hardest, but very very useful. The main task of WP-PostRatings, as I understand it, is to provide communication between the webmaster/author and readers, getting feedback. The secondary task is to show information about the quality of the article on the website and in search results, what increases interest in a thorough reading of the article, CTR in search results, etc. But main is communication. However, communication should not be one-way only: visitor -> webmaster. I as webmaster want to communicate with visitors too, want to have possibility to answer. For example, if visitor put highest mark to article, I want to tell something like “thank you very much, recommend us to your friends, subscribe to our newsletter, ect”. In the opposite situation, if mark is bad, I want to ask visitor explain in comments, why he/she thinks so, and website team will try to correct article. Same for all marks. So my suggestion is developing a feature that allows to show visitors after they voting a message, which depend on mark. Best, in my opinion, if this message will be shown as popup div (not window, just div) and may contain HTML code, shortcodes, widgets, etc. But in any embodiment, the ability to respond to the visitor after the vote will be extremely useful for the development of high-quality website and bring the functionality of this great plugin to the highest level.

    4. And last but not least. Please allow visitors to re-vote. Belive me, visitors very offen makes a mistake and want to change opinion. 🙂 Now it is impossible. And I’ve got a lot of feedbacks about this. Disabling one-IP-one-vote protection is very bad for statistics. Enabling makes impossible re-voiting. Under any option – impasse. 🙁 But we, webmasters, just need a re-voiting feature. As an additional option or permanent – not so important (option of course more flexible). But we need this. Very very much. Really!
