I run a singlesite installation.
And i did not test user-role exclusions yet, but user role for the switch work like a charm 😉

Re cmp icon: I tested it out on few other installations and it works fine, so it seems it is really caused by that plugin, probably over-riding our CSS. Could you tell me the plugin name, so I can test it out and update the CSS accordingly?

Oh no need since it is a paid plugin, but I believe you have the option to add custom CSS in that plugin, you could try following code:
#toplevel_page_cmp-settings img {
max-width: 20px!important;
}
which should resolve the CMP icon bug.
I will update CMP CSS in next update if you confirm it works 🙂

Sorry the plugin dont seems to have options to add custom css.
