I’m having this error on my website when I activate the Smart Slider plugin,
Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type null in /customers/6/9/7/medisanitize.co.uk/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/smart-slider-3/Nextend/Framework/Model/Section.php on line 57
Can you please tell me how to solve this issue?

Hi @sohani
What’s the PHP version on your site? You can check it at the Help center > under Debug information:
https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1773-help-centerDo you see this error show up at your other sliders, or only at this one specific slider? Does the problem persists if you clear the slider’s cache? You can do that from the Slider Actions:
https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1764-slider-settings#slider-actionsCan you export the slider:
https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1728-export-import-slider#export
where this error happens and send it to us at:
https://smartslider3.com/contact-us/support/?ref=https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/smart-slider-error/&topic=Other&slider-export=slider-yesits PHP version 8.1.10
I have a smart slider on the homepage and its shows errors on all pages of my website
I have cleared the cache, do I have to enable that button?
there’s an instruction with a button that says,Button ON/OFF (Delete resized image cache)
If enabled the following folder will be permanently deleted: /customers/6/9/7/medisanitize.co.uk/httpd.www/wp-content/uploads/slider/cache/
Hi,
I checked Smart Slider Free 3.5.1.9 on PHP 8.1.10 but I didn’t see this error or any other error connected to Smart Slider (even with
WP_DEBUGenabled), so I find it possible that it’s related to the displayed slider in some way.Can you export the slider:
https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1728-export-import-slider#export
where this error happens and send it to us at:
https://smartslider3.com/contact-us/support/?ref=https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/smart-slider-error/&topic=Other&slider-export=slider-yes
to see if we can reproduce the problem? Also, can you try temporarily disabling your other plugings and switching back to a default WordPress theme (Twenty something) to see if the problem persists like that?

I have cleared the cache, do I have to enable that button?
there’s an instruction with a button that says,Button ON/OFF (Delete resized image cache)
It’s fine if you leave it disabled. It only removed the resized images, but what this test needed to clear the slider’s cache, which is done without this button.
I see…
I tried exporting the slider, but it failed, I have shared the screenshot and website link in the support ticket
I have tried temporarily disabling the other plugins, the issue is with the smart slider
Hi @sohani
Since the issue is probably related to the slider itself (as I don’t see any errors on PHP 8.1.10 on my test site) I really need the export file to figure out what’s going on.
Do you get any error when you try to export? Can you send me the exact error message you get? If you wouldn’t get any error message, try to enable the error reporting on your server:
https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1949-error-reporting#error-wp
see if anything gets logged when you try the export. If any error happes, please send it to me.Hi I managed to export the slider file and I have submitted to support
My issue is still there
Hi @sohani!
I wrote to your email yesterday, so it might have gone to your spam folder, if you haven’t received it. I will paste my answer here:
“The problem with your slider is, that it was created with the Pro version of Smart Slider and Pro version sliders aren’t perfectly compatible with the Free version. Your slider has Pro background animations enabled, but currently you have the Free version of Smart Slider on your website, so when our code tries to find the selected animation, it can’t, and it produces the error you see. As you aren’t using the background animations at all, you could just go to your slider’s settings -> Animations tab:
https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1779-slider-settings-animations
and X out the Background Animations. That should solve the problem!”
