Smartslider Delay

This is my entire pageload on Gtmetrix. I do not understand why there is such a huge delay… delay before and after the shadow image. The entire page is loading very fast.

Any idea how to cut this delay?

Is this delay because of the DOM repaint?

Hi @check2020de!

The problem you are seeing happens, because we are using JavaScript to call in our images, which needs some time to start. This happens, because at some parts of our code we need to know datas about the loaded page before we can decide what image should load. For example at the Shadow:

there is a “Hide on” feature. If you decide to hide your shadow on mobile view, we need to know whether you are in mobile view or not and we wouldn’t load this image in mobile screen sizes.

If I got you right you are talking about the delay before the shadow, right? The main dalay is after the shadow.

I understand that you need to know datas about teh loaded page but isn’t this possible earlier? And is it possible to reduce the needed time for this? If the delay after the shadow image is longer than the entire page load before, there must be room to reduce this.

I am sorry but it applies to everything inside the slider, as we need to wait not only your site to download the files, but also to built up completely. Since the calculations of the slider size and the layers’ position and the size will depend on the CSS and JavaScript of your site.

SmarSlider3 is so amazing great… but this brings me to the point the re-think about the plugin and having a look for some other slider plugins.
