Even i had faced the same problem. Looks like SMTP has been blocked by server. You can try this “WordPress Mail Bank – Best PHPMailer & SMTP Mailer”. It worked for me.
1) Goto settings of the plugin
2) From Name : Your Company Name
3) From Email : Your Company Email
4) Mailer Type : Use the PHP mail() function to send emails
5) Return Path : Checked
6) Word Wrap : 50
Save the changes and send test mail
