smtp authentication security

    Hi,
    this might be a stupid question but I was wondering about security when using an external email provider (in my case zoho-mail).

    Here’s my postman config:
    SMTPS to smtp.zoho.com:465 using Password (Plain) authentication

    I’m worried about “Password (Plain)”. Does this mean a 3rd party could intercept my login details as plain text? I know the connection uses SSL but I just want to make sure I’m on the safe side here.

    SMTPS is protected at the network level by either SSL or TLS encryption. Your password is safe! Plain authentication means password authentication.

    To v1.6.13, I’ve added little emoji’s to indicate secure and insecure on the Dashboard Widget and the Main Settings screen. Cheers! 🙂
