    Hi FluentSMTP support team,

I have installed FluentSMTP in one of my websites. It works very well.
Now I want to install it in another one, but it doesn’t work!

I get this error message: “SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.”

Yet I followed the same procedure and respected the same settings.
For both, I used the wp-config.php file to store credentials.
What did I miss for this last installation?

    Thanks,

    Hello there,

Can you please check if the user name and From Email is same? In addition, you can check if you have selected the right port for the connection. Finally, you can check if you have selected the right host name.

    Let me know the update.

    Thank you

    Hi @amimulihsanmahdi ,

    Thanks for your reply.

1/ Check if the user name and From Email is same.
They are not identical. The From Email contains the email address created for this website. The Name contains the name of the website.

2/ Check if you have selected the right port for the connection.
The SMTP port is set to 465, and I’ve checked SSL.

3/ Check if you have selected the right host name.
The SMTP Host contains the name of the outgoing server provided by the host.

Authentication is defined in the wp-config file: Email address and password.

The configuration is the same as for the first working website. I don’t know why this isn’t the case for the second one!

I also set the email Routing to “Local” in cPanel.

    Thanks,

    Hello again,

Thanks for the information. Usually, when connecting using Other SMTP option the From Email and the user name is same if the email sending service uses the email as the user name. Can you please check that? In addition, you can store the access keys in DB as shown in the screenshot instead of saving the data to config file. Finally, check if firewall/security plugin is making a conflict by disabling firewall/security plugin.

    Let me know the update.

    Thank you

    Hi @amimulihsanmahdi,

    Thanks for your reply,

1/ The From Email and the user name is same….
I put the email address both in “From Email” and in “From Name”. But the email is not sent!
    The same error message appears.

2/ Store the access keys in DB instead of config file
I saved the keys in the database instead of “Config file”, but still the email is not sent with the same error message.

3/ Check if firewall/security plugin is making a conflict
The security plugin I have is the same as the one on the other websites where SMTP works. So there can’t be any conflict.

I followed the same installation procedure on the other websites where it worked, but for this site it doesn’t!

    Hello again,

We need to check the issue further, this might be appearing due to some other reason. Would you please share the details here so that we can check the issue deeply?

    Thank you
