I’ve got the plugin set-up on two separate sites on the same hosting account. Both are WordPress and both are using Contact Form 7 forms. They’re set-up identically too, but one of the sites is returning the generic error:

    SMTP Error: Data not accepted

I did a search for this, but couldn’t find any results anywhere.

Any idea what this could be?

    Hi @nrtdesign,

Thanks for reaching out! Generally, you may experience the error “data not accepted” because of the following reasons.

    1) You have authenticated the WP Mail SMTP plugin using one email address ([email protected]) but you’re trying to send an email using a different email address ([email protected]). You can enable the “force from email” option under the WP Mail SMTP -> Settings page.

    2) Your email provider is not allowing you to use a different “reply-to” email. In that case, you need to use the same WP Mail SMTP authenticated email as your “reply-to” email.

    3) Maybe you’re trying to send an email notification with an attachment, but you have exceeded the attachment size limitation.

I hope this helps to troubleshoot the issue. Thanks! 🙂
