the inability for a single picture to be shared on social networks (instead of the page URL),
does it relate to how Flickr Album Gallery pulls images from Flickr or the social sharing buttons on top?

We tried to implement single picture to be sharing, Sorry! but didn’t got success.
You can contact to plugin author to move sharing icons on the top of the images. They can help you in this.
