Hi there,
I just checked your site and they seem to be counting the share counts accordingly. Can you please send me a specific URL where the Twitter share counts appear to be off? Happy to help you on this!
Thanks,
Mary Anne
Hi naimtex,
Thanks for the URL!
I tested both the Facebook and Twitter buttons and they appeared after waiting a couple of minutes, so I can understand why this is an issue. Here’s a screenshot of the URL you sent me with the updated share counts: http://www.screencast.com/t/CQBR31fDhR
Share counts may not always appear immediately which is usually due to your server. I hope this information helps. Also, I would be happy to verify other share counts on your site if you feel they are experiencing a different issue. Let me know!
Thank you,
Mary Anne
i shared my twitter post to more than 10 account, but it shows only 2 share counter
Hi @naimtex,
For which URL did you share it 10 times? Can you please send me the URL you are referring to?
Also, for the URL above, I tried sharing it to Twitter again and it counted just fine. So you should now see 2 share counts for Twitter.
This is how I verified the accuracy of the share counts:
1.) Go to SharedCount.com and enter any URL you want to verify share counts for into the field. (Note: if the share counts don’t refresh right away, make sure to clear your browser’s cache.) Here’s an example of the URL you listed above with the share count results: http://www.sharedcount.com/#url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.magazinetoday.org%2Fmy-daughters-giving-up-on-her-family-f%2F
2.) Use the Twitter’s debugger tool to verify counts. Enter this URL into a browser:
http://urls.api.twitter.com/1/urls/count.json?url=YOUR_URL_HERE
Where it reads YOUR_URL_HERE, replace it with the URL you want to verify Twitter share counts for. Make sure to include the “http://”. Here’s an example of the share count results for the same URL above: http://urls.api.twitter.com/1/urls/count.json?url=http://www.magazinetoday.org/my-daughters-giving-up-on-her-family-f/
(Again, you may need to clear your browser’s cache if the share counts do not refresh immediately for that page.)
Hopefully this information helps you to verify share counts! Let me know if this is still not the case. I’m happy to help you figure this out. 🙂
Thank you,
Mary Anne
