    Lengthy two day process, but speed tests indicated ‘social’ functions (facebook, etc.) were impacting my site’s performance. The pages would note load. Blogs would. After testing theme(s) and plugins, finally tried the option of turning off all social sharing on pages (not blogs). Site is back up and running. But would like to fix the social sharing issue so I can add this back into the pages.

    The Yoast SEO doesn’t add any social sharing features on a site. The Yoast SEO plugin only adds the Facebook open graph meta and Twitter card meta to ensure the correct data shows when sharing your site on social media. So, the issue you’re experiencing is most probably specific to any other 3rd party plugins or themes.

    That said if you’d like you can disable the Facebook open graph meta and Twitter card meta generated by Yoast directly from the Yoast SEO → Social → Facebook (tab) and Twitter (tab).
