Socket error: 111

    Hi everyone,

    After installation of the plugin, I got following error:

    BackUpWordPress has detected a problem. wp-cron.php is returning a socket error: 111 response which could mean cron jobs aren’t getting fired properly. BackUpWordPress relies on wp-cron to run scheduled back ups. See the FAQ for more details.

    I can do a manual backup. Further, I followed the FAQ and I added a 711(755) permission to the wp-cron.php. According the FAQ, I added this line of code to wp-cron.php:

    define( 'ALTERNATE_WP_CRON', true );

    However, the warning/error stil exist.

    Does somebody know how to fix it?

    Your best bet is to contact your hosting company and ask them about the error.

    Your server should be able to make curl requests back to itself

    But in privies versions I had no problems with plugin. it’s worked just fine.

    Are you automatic backups actually broken? Or is the issue just that the error is showing?

    It’s likely that the error has always been happening but just wasn’t picked up before, version 2.1.3 improved how the errors are detected there.
