Hi, we’ve had reports of the soft cookie wall appearing even after the banner preferences are saved. I’ve not experienced the issue myself so tend to think it’s a browser setting. When you first visit the site, the banner pops up with the soft wall, you then save your cookie preferences. As soon as you click anywhere else on the website, the cookie banner/softwall appears again.

Initially it seemed to affect IE, but its also occurring in Chrome and Firefox.
    Thanks

    Hi @sdsteam,

It’s hard to reproduce this issue. We tried different browsers and devices but to no avail.

It could be these browsers have privacy extensions that clear the cache after each website visit. Which then is correct behavior.

If you or anyone can reproduce this. Please let me know what browser/device/iOS and with which extensions installed. I have seen users who only use incognito/privacy mode in their browsers and after opening a new window cache is removed and the banner will appear.

If you have some more information, let me know!

    regards Aert

    Hi @sdsteam,

We think it might be stored in local storage. After an update, this should clear. Which is coming on Sunday. Hope this helps, have a nice weekend,

Thanks Aert, appreciate this. I did start looking at browser settings to replicate the issue but could not find it and got side tracked! We’ll check on Monday and feedback. Have a good one also.

    Hi @sdsteam,

Did you manage to replicate the issue? Let me know,

you can download https://github.com/rlankhorst/complianz-gdpr 4.0.0 if you’re willing to check if updating clears local storage. What is most likely the issue.

    regards Aert

Thanks Aert, i’ve asked the users that reported this if it’s still occurring. If it’s still an issue we will try installing v4.0.0 of the plugin.
