Solution: Google Search Console error with sitemap

    Hi. If you have a problem with Google Search Engine reporting error for empty sitemap file, please adjust the IP Retrieval setting under Settings / Advanced Settings. I changed from default to HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR and the sitemap problem was instantly solved. I found this solution from another thread, where Yoast SEO plugin was used. I have SEO framework, so it doesn’t matter what SEO plugin you use.

    The problem could be a combination of a setting to prevent fake googlebots to scan the site and IP Retrieval setting not working.

    I have Bitnami WordPress installation on Amazon Lightsail. Apache.
