Solution required for User Groups

Hello All,

This is my first post here. 🙂

So, I have this test taking website with a bunch of users and I would like to know how I could go about in achieving the following:

1. User Groups: I would like to segregate the users into groups on the basis of the course they’ve taken. (I’ve found a few user role plugins but using them by themselves wont let me achieve points 2 &3 – I think)

2. Email Notification: An automated email notifying that a new post has been added to particular user groups depending on the type of post.

3. Further, if it would be possible to integrate the same user groups to a newsletter plugin as different lists?

Any help / suggestion / advice will be much appreciated.
