Solved my problem!

Used this with a custom post type, where I needed to be able to generate a link to the next and previous post, by menu order, instead of the way wordpress default does it — by post date. I was able to quickly come to a understanding of what I needed to do and was able to use the documentation to get it working within a few minutes. Thanks so much!
