At first, I love the idea of your plugin. There is nothing compareable. But I feel it is pretty much in the beginning phase. Some problems and ideas to give this plugin a great future on wordpress:

    1. Plugin does not work in combination with Cache Plugins, Embeds are not loaded behind the privacy block. If you click to reveal the embed content, the video/tweet just disappears. (guess it was never loaded in the first place)

    2. Plugin should detect embeds based on code not only based on gutenberg embed-blocks.

    3. Plugin should detect what social/video/image-network is embeded.

    4. The option to reveal the embeds should be saved for the user. So if they click another post or comeback later embeds are still visable. Maybe working with a cookie here.

    5. If the option can be saved a global on/off option for each detected social network would be nice. So publisher can give users the option to turn embeds on and off globally.

I have a good example for a page where everything works like that. But I dont know if I can post links here.

But for the Beginning an awesome Idea and Plugin. Thanks for your work!

    Hi jeffeeson2017,

thank you for your feedback! It’s nice to read that you like our plugin.

We are aware of the issue with caching plugins and already have an idea how to address it. Thank you anyway for pointing this out.

We also plan to add saving the user’s preferences in the future. However the idea of the plugin is to let the user control what he/she wants to load on the website so I don’t think that we will ever implement your last (5) suggestion.

Also, the plugin uses WordPress’s internal embed feature and enhances it. As long as WordPress itself doesn’t recognize some links you want to have to be supported by WordPress, it won’t be supported by Embed Privacy.

Besides this, all embeds that are recognized by WordPress itself already are recognized by Embed Privacy. If you have a problem with any of the supported embeds feel free to let us know about that.
