• Hey there,

I’ve testet this plugin for some days and then bought it. I LOVE it! It helps me organize my WordPress, find the already published photos and lets me add my new logo to all of my photos!

While it’s 95% perfect, I have some ideas for the last 5%.

    Syncing out of LR

    #1
Syncing my 63k photos in LR and about 2k photos in WordPress takes a looooong time. It would be great if I could sync my 2015 folder in LR with the 2015 upload folder in WP.

    #2
I have some photos twice in my database, as a preview and in higher resolution. For a perfect link, it would help if I could see the file name in the matching window and the resolution of the WP file, too.

    #3
I’d love to have hotkeys for the total sync function in LR.

    #4
The button “ignore” in total sync, LR, causes some trouble.
    a) If I ignore a photo, in the next sync process it’s there again, while the button now says un-ignore
    b) If I hit un-ignore, there’s an empty error window popping up. After closing I have to go to the next photo and back for being able to hit “ignore” again

I’ve made several collections in LR in the publish tool of WP/LR. It would be great to have seperate export settings for every collection, i.e. a watermark for my photos but no watermark for the collection “title pictures”.

    Working in WP

I changed my logo and therefore I can see whether a photo is already connected with LR: New logo = connection, old one = no connection yet.
To connect it is a bit tricky. I edit the post, delete the old photo, re-publish it via LR and add it again. It would be way easier if, when editing a photo, I could just add the LR ID.

Thanks for listening and a hugh thank you for this great plugin!

    Hi Birgit,

I think your questions are very interesting and unfortunately my answer might be a bit disappointing but that will give more insight on how everything works, especially Lightroom (which doesn’t give much power to the developers unfortunately).

Oh yeah, 63,000 photos will take a long time 🙂 Do you mean you only want to publish/sync a few photos first? Do you know you can select a bunch of photos (of all of them in a collection) then press shift and Publish? The Publish button will actually change to “Publish Selected”.

I think that’s a bit weird, you should only have one photo for one media, and you set-up an image size in WordPress to have another resolution. But yes, I can display that filename, I am surprised it is not here already!

Of course, that too, that should be added. Good catch 🙂

Sounds like a bug, I will check.

I wish I could do this… But LR wouldn’t let me do it. Alternatively you can create two publish services to the same website, each of them with one collection (or with one style of export). That would work 🙂

You can see that in the LR Column in the Media Library, do you know that? Also, you don’t need to delete the old photo and re-add it again. When you synchronize the files, the same filename are used, they are not modified, so basically your website should still be working perfectly with the new images. Can you test again?

I will pin your post to the top since it contains some things I need to work on 🙂

Arg, it’s hard to explain stuff in a foreign language 🙂
This screenshot shows what I’d love to sync:

Actually, yesterday I changed my workflow anyway. I open every post, then look for the photos in LR and add it to my sync collection. Still some hours, but it works better than it sounds.

I use LR 5.7.1, in case you need to know.

    That’s a great idea, I didn’t think/know it was possible! Thanks a lot, that’s a hugh help!

Thank you for your great feedback. #5 will really make a difference for me 🙂

Ah yes, I understand 🙂 What you show on the screenshot is completely impossible to do though. If those were only “files”, that could be, the problem is here you are trying to link two virtual libraries (Lightroom and WordPress) which are actually databases with files behind and a lot of metadata.

Could you sync everything actually? 🙂

That would be awesome… I’m somewhere in 2014, started with today’s photos and went backwards. But it’s ok, I do it in the evenings, watching movies.
