sortable masonry post gallery?

I want to create a sortable (by category), masonry gallery, based on the featured image of Posts or custom posts, and to be able to click through from the image to the Post (to make a design portfolio of case studies). Is this something that Simply Gallery can do out of the box?

I searched for answers and can’t find this specific use-case. thank you.
