    Hi,

I use the following command in the custom commands field:

    "columnDefs": [ { "type": "date-eu", "targets": [ 0 ] } ]

But it doesn’t have any effect…the sorting depends on the day instead of the year.

Can you give me a hint? Do I have to install anything else?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

For this, you will first have to install and activate the TablePress Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/datatables-sorting-plugins/ as a new plugin.

In addition, I recommend to add an actual header row, e.g. with “Datum”, “Anlass”, “Prediger”, etc., or similar.

    Tobias

    Hi!

    thanks for your fast reply!

I did both now: installed the extension and added a header row.

But the sorting still depends on the day as you can see on the site. :/

It would be great if the rows were sorted by the european date format.

    Do you have another idea?

    Kind regards

    Hi,

hhm, it looks like you have now turned off the Sorting for this table? That will have to be enable, by activating the checkbox.

    Hi!

hm, do you mean this option?

“Aktiviere das Sortieren der Tabelle durch den Seiten-Besucher.”

I thought that’s only neccessary if the user should be able to sort?
Or do you mean another option?

Sorry for those simple questions :/

    Best regards
    Ole

    Hi,

yes, that’s the option that I meant. I had assumed that you were talking about the user sorting (because that’s what the mentioned Extension and the “Custom Command” that you had already found can influence).

From what I now understand, you just want a static sorting of the dates in the first column? Unfortunately, I don’t have a direct solution for that at the moment, as TablePress can only sort by the mm/dd/yyyy format on its “Edit” screen. My suggested workaround is to export the table to a CSV file, open that on your computer in Excel, sort the table there, and then re-import the CSV file into TablePress, choosing to replace the current version.

    Regards,
    Tobias
