I’d like to know this too! Any answers anyone? I’m sure this is as easy as changing the SQL (adding “order by … desc”) but not sure where the SQL is.
OK, found it! There are 3 “Select” statements in the
“wp-includes\comment-template.php” file – around line 290. I have changed all 3 to have ” DESC” at the end. This will reverse the default (Ascending) sort order.

how do you sort comments from latest on top to the oldest at the bottom? thanks in advance!
