Source Details not populating

    I try to record source information for all supporters. I was able to successfully create a hidden field to pass a tracking code (which populates the source tracking code for a new supporter) through my gravity form, but I cannot figure out how to get the Source Details to populate. It simply says “(No Referring info)” for all of the supporters added via the Gravity form.

    @craftee123 — Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, Salsa does not support having the “Source” or “Source Details” fields populated via the API, so there’s no way for this plugin (or any other tool utilizing the API) to provide values for those fields, which is why you’re seeing what you’re seeing.     (I wish Salsa’s API didn’t work this way…)

    Per the article you sent, Source Details is supposed to be populated with the HTML Referer, but it is populating as null. So is that a Salsa error?

    Unfortunately, I think it’s a matter of vague documentation. 🙂

    Source Details is populated with the HTML Referrer only when forms are being filled out directly on Salsa-hosted pages — when the API is used for any reason, such as this plugin, it is always “null”. I’d love it if the API worked differently, but this is consistent behavior that I believe is “by design” from Salsa’s perspective.
