@stefaninthailand
Hi mate,
Thank you for your message.
Could you please clarify what kind of “spam” you are referring to?
Our plugin is simply a chat button that redirects users to WhatsApp, so we do not handle or process the messages sent through that channel. All messages are received directly in your own WhatsApp account, and we have no access to the content or control over who sends messages there.
For that reason, we are not sure what you mean by “spam coming via the chat box,” and it would help if you could describe an example.
Regarding the bot feature you mentioned:
The bot system is currently in beta, and it is only available for users with an active PRO subscription. It has not been officially released in the free version yet.
If you can clarify the exact issue, we will be happy to guide you.
Best regards,

Hi,
it is the kind of spam that African, especially Nigerian phone numbers so. Of course it is not the fault of the plug-in Social Chat. But when I deactivate the plug-in there is no spam. Reactivated, the spam is back.

I am looking forward what you suggest to avoid the spam. If the bot system solves the problem, I will be happy to pay for the Pro version.
Thank you very much
Stefan
@stefaninthailand
Hi Stefan,
So the plugin is not creating the spam, but it does act as a direct access channel, which can naturally increase unwanted messages if your WhatsApp number is publicly reachable.
Regarding the bot system:
The current bot functionality does not include a built-in spam filter rule. However, it does allow you to build validation flows before a conversation reaches you.
With the bot, you can:
- Ask users to provide specific information before continuing
- Add validation steps (for example, required inputs, confirmations, or simple logic checks)
- Filter out low-quality or automated messages by stopping the flow if requirements are not met
This doesn’t eliminate spam at the phone-number level, but it can significantly reduce irrelevant or automated messages by ensuring only users who follow the flow correctly can continue the conversation.
If you’re interested, the bot system is currently available in beta for Pro users, and we’d be happy to help you evaluate whether it fits your use case.
Best regards,
QuadLayers Support Team
