Today we had a spammer using Shariff as a backdoor to send spam mails via our server (about 1 mail per minute)! The sending of spam mails stopped as soon sa we switched off Shariff plugin.
We detected Shariff as the backdoor by using the “E-Mail Log” Plugin, Version 1.9.1

    Hello frankammain,

could you provide me with the logs you used to detect the behavior? Then we can check, how this was possible. We use certain antispam mechanisms to prevent unintended sending of e-mails and need to find out, how they could get circumvented – especially since you are the first one reporting it. You can e-mail them to [email protected].

In the meantime, you can disable the E-Mail form functionality completely in Shariff using the appropriate option on the “mail form” tab.

Thank you for your help in this matter,
    JP
