spam user registration

    Hello,

    I am having a problem with spam users being registered to my site. The only way to register is through the ultimate member form, but I have activated ultimate members google recaptcha extension, but it looks like there are still new spam users being registered.

    The interesting thing is that I don’t believe it the user is being registered through the registration form. Any user that registers through the UM form get a community role of ‘Premium Member’, but these spam users have a community role of ‘member’. This is how I know they’re spam users.

    I don’t know where the spam users are even registering from. I getting around 20-30 registered users a day.

    Any help to prevent these spam user registration would be much appreciated.

    Hi @imthatguydavid,

    You can block access to default WP register form, which makes the users forced to register using UM register form (which has captcha protection) you can do so by turning off this option: Allow backend register screen for guests in the plugin access settings tab.

    Thanks. I went ahead and turned it off. I will update this post at the end of the day to let everyone how that went. I do believe this is what I need though.
