    I never had this problem with 1.5, I have the option checked “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” but spammers are still leaving comments, any ideas?

    Yeah, sign up for a wordpress.com blog and get your API key, then activate the akismet plugin using that key. Spam problem solved.

    get the Spam Karma 2 i think it is much better than akismet

    SK is more likely to block normal users though.

    if you really want a firewall, install both. they don’t interfere with each other, and you shouldn’t even have a hint of spam

    Ok, I’ll try these suggestions and report back, but there must be a security hole if people are getting into comment without an account, no?
