    So MY post/topic now lol

    We used to be able to use <span style=”color: #339966;”>blabla</span>

    There was nothing wrong with that…it worked. Now after upgrade its can’t be done.

    My thoughts; Everytime there is an upgrade ‘something in WordPress ‘ you KNOW always worked before now does’nt.

    How annoying!

    Don’t worry about the other post – the forums just work better when you create a new thread :).

    On your question – can you provide some additional information – i.e. what theme, where are you adding this code, are you sure you don’t have any errors, a link to your site would also be helpful.

    Hi,

    I am on Admired theme. The <span></span> attribute works in a post, just not in the sidebar where its always worked.

    Even copy/paste still does’nt.

    <span style=”color: #ff0000;”>Happy Valentines day may be a sentence.</span>

    Maybe it W3C and HTML5 that may have urged WordPress developers to change things.

    Looking at your site, it looks like you have a syntax error in the CSS code:

    <span style="color": #ff0000;">

    (no closing quote on “color”)

    You might want to check on the other validation errors are well:

    Thanks!

    I can sort the </span> in the CSS although thats not been touched by me, its come along with the theme.

    The other at W3C which I don’t usually ask to check (will in future) will take me some days, maybe weeks to rectify..

    So does anyone know the CSS for color of text as this is now an error at W3C due to the following being obsolete?
