I’m using the Eventin plugin and adding speakers to my event. However, I’ve noticed that the “Speaker Email” field is currently required.

In my case, I do not need to collect speaker email addresses, and I would prefer for this field to be optional.

Is there a way to configure the plugin so that this field is not required? If not, could you please consider adding a setting or a filter hook to control this in a future update?

    Hi @unigunde

We understand that in your case, collecting a speaker’s email address may not be necessary. However, the email field is currently required because speakers and organizers are registered as WordPress users. This is part of our long-term vision to introduce personalized scheduling and profile management features for them, where an email becomes essential.

That said, for users like you who do not need the user functionality, we’ve ensured that:

    • You can disable email visibility on the frontend and stop notification emails by adjusting the settings here: screenshot.
    • You can also hide the user from the WordPress Users list when creating a speaker or organizer using this option: screenshot.

As a workaround, you may use a dummy email address during speaker creation and keep everything hidden from the frontend and admin views.

We appreciate your suggestion to make this field optional and will definitely consider adding a setting or filter hook in a future update to improve flexibility.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can assist you with!

    Best regards
