Special characters don't work ( & )

I included an ‘&’ in my password and it failed. It did not give me an error message when I set the password, it simply wouldn’t allow me to log in. I checked several times, checked my CAPS lock, etc. THe issue seemed to be that it could not handle having ‘&’ in the password. As soon as I removed it, it worked fine.
