Special characters replaced | ww.wp.xz.cn

Images containing special characters like æøå are replaced with non-special characters.
å = aa
æ = ae
ø = oe

Is there any way to avoid this? Really makes the conversion a deal breaker for many of my images

Hi @squazz,
I use a WordPress function to sanitize filenames, I’ll check if there is a way to leave some “unsinitized” character.

I’ll let you know if I find a solution.

I’m sorry but I can’t change the WordPress sanitizatio.

I use remove_accent (https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/reference/functions/remove_accents/) and sanitize_file_name (https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/reference/functions/sanitize_file_name/) to be sure that the filename will be compatible con every kind of server, if I remove those controls some user could generate inaccessible files.

It is the remove_accents part that breaks the URLs for danish users.
