Hi Denis, this might come through as a rather odd request, is it possible to include an option to count for a specific archived page on the site? It contains HTML page with used to be a broken link for an old sitemeter counter, updated for an nph-count cgi from an old provider, which may not be available at my current host.

Happy to provide support if interested.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

thank you for reaching out and for the detailed explanation — I understand your use case and the background with the legacy counters very well.

At the moment, Page Visits Counter – Lite is designed to track visits only for standard WordPress entities that are handled by WordPress itself (such as posts, pages, custom post types like products, and their related archives). It does not currently support tracking visits for arbitrary or manually defined URLs, nor for standalone static HTML pages that exist outside of the WordPress routing/query system.

Because of this architectural limitation, counting visits for a specific archived HTML page or a custom URL that is not a WordPress object is unfortunately not possible with the plugin in its current form.

That said, I do appreciate you taking the time to explain your scenario, and I understand why a modern replacement for old CGI-based counters would be useful in such cases.

Thanks again for your interest and support.

    Best regards,
    Denis Botić
