    Thanks for reaching out on the forums! Your description is super clear, and that makes a lot of sense.

    I’m afraid that it’s not possible to do that with default functionality in WooCommerce because of how WordPress handles categories and taxonomy in the core code. If you’re interested in this from a technical standpoint, you can read more about it here.

    One option here would be to use tags instead of categories for your denim, cargo, sports, etc. Tags can be used to sort and filter products, but are not hierarchical in the same way that categories are.     You can use product tags as part of your permalink setup, so that might be a good option: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/permalinks/
