  • Hi @tkrose24

I hope you are doing well.

I see you switched the theme, but that still indicate something is not going on well, have you tried the full conflict test not only switching the theme but disabling all the plugins and then enabling one by one? I suggest the method 1 https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-check-for-wordpress-plugin-conflicts/ but in a Staging or local site.

Let us know the result you get.
    Best regards

I tried went into troubleshooting mode and then disabled every plugin while in troubleshooting mode and I was not able to switch to another Theme and still be able to edit my content. I even tried editing paragraphs that I just typed us on my WordPress Page, and it would only highlight the paragraph but not allow me to edit the written content. However, when I switched to the Highend Theme, I was able to edit my written content for 2 minutes and then paragraph blocks froze, and I was again unable to edit the WordPress page. I have also attached a screen recording link to show what was happening.

Additionally, I received an alert e-mail that my site did not load when Jetpack Monitor last checked on it, and that it has been down for 1 hour. It stated that their monitoring requests are not being handled correctly by my site and that it might mean my site requires authentication, or that my DNS is misconfigured. Error reference: 207869741/client. This e-mail was sent to me 4/27/25

Also, Site Quality Monitoring Alert sent me an e-mail 4/28/25 that dead links were found on the page, I have attached those links below. I have also just e-mailed bluehost about this problem. These problems are all staring to happen right after the Spectra-Gutenberg Block Editor Version update came out last week:

I replied to your e-mail yesterday but was not sure if you received my response. So, I also replied here.

    Hello @tkrose24

    Hope you’re doing well today!

About the email, it seems that you replied to the automated email from the ww.wp.xz.cn forums. We’re not notified unless you reply on this support thread. Hence the ideal approach would be to communicate on this thread itself 🙂

Further, coming to the issue itself, thank you for sharing further information and your observations. It seems that the issue could be more related to memory issues at the server end or could be at the browser end too. Please allow me to explain further.

Since Jetpack noticed the site was down – it is possible that the site could be facing memory or issues related to the server resources, for this, I would recommend you to check with your web hosting support to check if they are noticing any issues when it comes to the PHP resources or memory_limit.

Further, when I mentioned browser issues, I mentioned this because Gutenberg uses React JS which can cause some issues if you have multiple browser extensions added, this happens because it updates the DOM on the fly and could cause memory issues. In this case, I would also recommend you to test with a fresh browser with no browser extensions installed and see how that goes.

Please let us know and we’ll be happy to help you further.

    Kind Regards,
    Saurabh

Hello there! It looks like our team reached out and is helping with this issue. If you need anything, we are here for you!

I reached out to the Bluehost Server Support and an agent told me that they did not see any issues with the PHP resources or memory limit which was 50GB but I have52.80 GB Used of Unlimited.

I have no browser extensions added. WordPress Pro Live Support recommended I disable my animation plugin Slider Revolution while editing my WordPress page and I did that which helped only a little bit and the latest 6.8.1 version of WordPress helped a lot more in allowing me to edit more of my content on my pages. But, it would still freeze up at times, so I had to refresh the page and wait on it. Here is a screen recording link that I sent to WordPress Pro Live Support 5/5/25.

Just to clarify, the storage space for our highest shared hosting plan is capped at 50G for your account, keep in mind the cPanel storage indicators may not line up with the specifications of your plan as the restriction is not within the cPanel Ui and will not reflect as such. That said, no hosting plan is truly unlimited, you are still going to run into resource issues if you push it far enough.

If you are using 52.8G of space, then you are likely over your limit and that excess is what is possibly slowing your account down since the server has no room to operate. If that was the amount being taken by the memory, which seems unlikely…. that is extremely high for any website on a shared hosting plan.  You may want to re-evaluate your account and website to ensure excess files are removed and that the website itself is optimized to run on the plan you have selected. If you find it’s still exceeding limits you may need to start looking into other non-shared hosting plan options.

How do I determine what excess files I have and how do I go about removing them?

    Hi @tkrose24,

I hope this message finds you well.

You can use a plugin like https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/media-cleaner/ to scan for unused media and remove it from your website. Removing any unused media files can help free up storage space.

Additionally, check if you have any large log files and unused development or staging environments in your hosting server. You need to manually check this using SFTP or a File manager. Please remove any old log files and backups, which should also help free up the storage space.

    I hope that helps.

    Best Regards,
    Nebu John
