    Well I noticed that in the WP-ADMIN panel it says:

    Attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting.)

    As a checkbox.. It does increase the posting speed but I was wondering if there are any other tweaks that will make wordpress run as fast as it possibly can.

    Yes. Put all of admin on the Atkins diet for weight reduction. Specifically cut out anything which sends or receives anything you dont need. There is a plugin or something.
