It’s network lag. If you were running on localhost, you would see it’s lighthing fast.
There’s not much you can do, except:
a) get a faster connection from your computer to the internet
b) get a faster connection from your server to the internet
c) pray that the connections in-between them are fast 🙂
Hi,
I just installed the Front End Editor on a new WordPress install running on MS Web Matrix on my machine. There are no other plugins loaded. But, it takes about 2-4 seconds before the editor is loaded. This delay is always present, even for the simplest edits such as editing the post title. So, it can’t be network lag.
Is there anything that can be done. At least on the local host, I’d expect the editor to load instantaneously.

So, you’re saying you get a 2-4 second delay even when running FEE on a WP install on your own computer?
Yes, that’s what I’m seeing.

That’s normal; it’s aproximately the same speed I get on my localhost.
This delay is always present, even for the simplest edits such as editing the post title. So, it can’t be network lag.
Actually, network lag would explain this quite well: no matter how small the edit is, you still spend a lot of time just establishing a connection to the server.
