    Reader,
I have made my first site with WordPress. My upload speed is 5Mb. The loading of one of my pages, via internet, takes about 20 sec.
    Question:
    1. Is there a possibility to speed up the loading of a page by another setting in WordPress or a something else?
    2. What is the best to do?
    3. Is the time of 20 sec for downloading a page a normal value?
I am using Weaver II theme and have tested theme Grafhy. The test results of both themes give a loading times. Each page holds about 3 or 4 pictures. The size of the picture is not more than 100Kb and the page holds about 300 words of text.

Please, who can give me a good advice?
    Thank you,
    Hans

I commonly use two plugins, “Comet Cache” and Autoptimize, to speed up my sites.

But to answer your question, we really need a link to your site. There’s lots of reasons a site might be slow to load.

You have lots and lots of images that slow down the loading time because your web server allows only a few at a time to be fetched. You might try running them through a CDN. Install Jetpack https://jetpack.com/support/image-cdn/

Steven, Indeed I have a lot of images, video’s etc. I have studied the option CDN you advised me.
    Question:
Can you advice me the best CDN provider low price or maybe free?
    Thanks,
    Hans

Jetpack, as noted above, is free. Give it a try and see if it improves your load speed.

At the moment I am testing the plugin Comet Cache and Autoptimize. However, I have not yet found a significant difference in loading speed. While testing I have found out that with my Laptop and Mobile the loading speed is a lot better and exceptable.
    Question:
Is it possible to simply switch off PC mode and go on with Laptop and Mobile mode? In that case my loading problem is solved without any extra plugin’s?
    Thanks, Hans

Thanks Steven. I have found the problem. I am using WonderPlugin Slider and I have put 100 pictures in the slider. Each picture is about 100K which means about 10MB data. My upload stream is 4.3Mb resulting in a waiting time of 20 sec for the page the WonderPlug is implemented. As the wonderPlugin is used at the Home page that means everybody has to wait for 20 secs before my web-site is seen.
    Solution:
Limite the slider capacity to for example 10 pictures. This result in only 4 sec delay which is acceptable for me.
Thanks Steven for your support it was helpful!
    Kind regards,
    Hans

PS: I will implement this in the coming days!
