Sphinx installing error

    Hi,
    I am using wordpress-sphinx-search plugin. When i install Sphinx search engine in home path, it shows the following error.

    install your personal Sphinx search engine in.

    checking for a BSD-compatible install… /usr/bin/install -c
    checking whether build environment is sane… yes
    checking for gawk… gawk
    checking whether make sets $(MAKE)… yes
    checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles… no

    checking for compiler programs
    ——————————

    checking whether to compile debug version… no
    checking for gcc… gcc
    checking for C compiler default output file name… configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
    See `config.log’ for more details.

    Can anybody tell me to slove this problem?. or any other way to install sphinx search engine in wordpress?….
