    Good evening,

I’m using a plug-in called “PWA for WP & AMP.” With this plug-in, I’ve created a progressive web app. One thing I’ve been having an issue with is the splash page. I inserted all of the graphics at their required pixel sizes, but nothing comes up on my phone when I reload the app.

I just wanted to know if this was a result of the theme, or if there was something I could do within the theme to help the splash page pop up when I reload the app on my phone. When I first tap into the app, there’s a white screen (where the splash page should present), then the loader I’ve chosen pops up, then it goes to the platform. I’d prefer it if there was a splash page to fill in the white space in the beginning of the process.

Is there some code or another plug-in I could use to grant me the splash page I’m looking for on the mobile front?

    Best,
    Milton

  • Hello Milton,

Can you please provide more details regarding what you did?

Also, can you please provide some explanatory screenshots?

You can upload screenshots to your WordPress Media Library and share a link, or you can use one of the online services (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    Hey Roman!

This is the pwa plug-in that I used to turn my website into a progressive web app: https://thecollegexchange.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Wordpress_Splash-Page-Plugin-Used_CXC.png

This is where they state the option of being able to use a splash page so that one’s web app feels more native:

This is where I’ve put in the images into the splash page section of the plug-in, and converted all of them into the pixel requirements that they ask for:
    https://thecollegexchange.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Wordpress_Splash-Page-Pixels_CXC.png

Even through following the instructions, using the exact pixel requirements they asked for, refreshing my app, etc. the splash screen has never popped up. So I was wondering if you knew maybe why that was the case and if the Alizee theme had anything to do with it or if you knew of another way that I could get a splash page to pop up only on mobile devices and not desktop.

Thank you so much for your help as always!!

    Best,
    Milton

    Hello Milton,

Did you try to activate a default theme (for example Twenty Twenty) and see if the splash works?

    Kind Regards, Roman.

Thanks again for the help Roman. It seems this was an issue more for the plug-in itself, and they’re providing an update to it.

    You are welcome Milton!

    Kind Regards, Roman.
